Community Classes

After-School Program

Adopt a School
Bless a school by helping with needed supplies, sponsoring a teachers' luncheon or snacks, providing tutors, lunch monitors, traffic/car door assistance, and volunteers in other needed areas.
 
 
 
Interdenominational Event
Get the churches in your area together to do a project or an event, such as a youth rally, kids outreach, or a blessing booth at your local festival.  Much more can be accomplished working together, and it can be a powerful testimony to a community.
 
 
 
Outreach Day
Be a blessing in your community.  Pass out water bottles, pump gas, clean car windows, mow grass, paint, clean up a neighborhood or cemetery, host a free garage sale, or find some other way to bless your community.  Several ministries call their outreach an "ARK Day" standing for "Acts of Random Kindness." Community Needs Survey
Choose an area of your town and conduct a survey that will give you a better picture of your neighborhood, its people, and the needs represented.  Click on the picture to see an example.  If you want to increase community participation, then have a drawing for a Wal-mart gift card from the survey participants.
 
 
 
Feed the Local Heroes
Host a meal, or a monthly meal, at your church for the firefighters, police, or veterans in your community.  Let them know how much you care.  One pastor said the added benefit was the speeding ticket that he avoided.
 
 
 
Prayer Booth
Set up a tent or table in your town and offer "Free Prayer and ______" (Cocoa, Dr. Pepper, etc.)  Invest "prayerperation," and you may be amazed to see what God will do.  Click on the picture to see an example.
 
 
Adopt a Business
Adopt a new business each month.  Send a gift basket to a business in your town letting them know that your church is praying for them for that month/week.  Include tasty items in the basket, as well as, information about your church and a response card that will allow them to send you prayer requests.  Consider placing "Business of the Month/Week" on the church marquee.  Click on the picture for an example of what one church is doing.

When you see a pack of M&Ms take a moment to say a prayer for your leaders or favorite missionary...May they be sealed in God's protection, their ministry colorful - touching people of all kinds, may it be sweet with the presence of God, almost addictive.
